Im pretty excited, as I have finally found a male krib that my female fancies. Had quite a time in the past, and went through 3 males Rolling Eyes She was NOT impressed!!!! Kind of a snobby one this gal!!!

She is flirting big time with him , so I expect them to spawn soon!! My first time breeding Kribs, im pretty excited about it. I wont get my hopes up too much though, as I had heard its not uncommon to lose the first couple of spawns. Anybody have any advice??

Alright, congrats on the new pairing.

My advice would be ....... just leave them be ;)

You could however feed them a few more bloodworms to get them conditioned to mate and do make sure there is more then on cave (pot). Do not be alarmed if ma & pa start to fight quite roughly after the eggs are laid, mine fight all the time (but it has been known for one or the other to be killed after a spawn).

When you see she has wigglers I would do a gravel vac, that way you could get away without a vaccuum for a week or to and step up your waterchanges. Also be sure that all filter intake valves are covered or the wee ones will be going for a ride lol.

Ok that's my advice Laughing

I have 2 different caves in there, one on each end of the tank....Clay pot and a plastic one.

Checked on them this mornin and still no spawning, but the danios are spawning like crazy in there. Have been for days. You could see the eggs falling down into the rocks. Very tiny and clear. Momma krib is right behind them cleanin them up!!! Dont know how she can even see them, the gravel is very light colored. Maybe Im breeding the wrong fish Confused: j/k

When they decide it's time to breed you will see them cleaning a spot continously, their colors will brighten emensly and if you keep an eye on ma you with see her "chute" lower, that normally indicates eggs within 24 hours for me.

I was out of town for a couple of weeks and came home to a batch of babies!!!! From what I can tell there is 16 - they are a little difficult to count! They are doing great and growing fast. Ive been trying to get pics but whenever I get the cam out they seem to be way in the back behind everything. Ill keep trying.
Its so neat to watch the parents protecting them. When they see me , they seem to make a jerking movement with their bodies, as if to WARN me to stay away hehehe.
